ASID NY MetroAIA New York and IIDA New York hosted Design Connext, the first-annual design student mixer, in New York City last week. Interior design, architecture, landscape architecture and urban studies students from 13 colleges were invited to the Steelcase WorkLife Center to meet and connect. Rapper F.Stokes and DJ Love Story provided entertainment for the 300 guests.

“The attendance and enthusiasm of the students was mind-blowing,” says designer Tyler Wisler, a member of the Design Connext steering committee. “When planning for an event that has never been done, we never know what the turnout, outcome or response will be, but we exceeded and surpassed anything that was originally planned for. This gives us legs for bigger and better events in the future for these students.”
