Hosted at the Michael Aram flagship store and the Lefroy Brooks showroom, the Design on a Dime Thank You Party on June 2 welcomed a number of notable attendees including interior designers Arlene Angard, Robin Baron, Neal Beckstedt, Timothy Brown, Zoe Oliphant, Francis Toumbakaris and Tamara Stephenson, as well as Lefroy Brooks President Warren Pearl, Michael Aram, and CEO and President of Michael Aram, Terri Eagle. "What an amazing group of people," shared Aram. "We congratulate Housing Works and thank them for the incredible work they do. We are proud and honored to support their mission any way we can.”

The party, held to thank and celebrate the designers who created vignettes for Housing Works’ Design on a Dime and the Groundbreaker Awards (which in May raised $1.3 million to building the Hull Street Residence) was kicked off with remarks by George Oliphant, host of NBC’s “George to the Rescue.”

"Design on a Dime is a true community effort, and the record-breaking $1.3 million we raised would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of each individual committed to making the event successful," said David Raper, SVP of Business Enterprises at Housing Works. "We were thrilled to be able to bring everyone together at the Michael Aram and Lefroy Brooks showrooms and celebrate this tremendous achievement. We can't say thank you to the design community enough. The funds raised from Design on a Dime will change the lives of many HIV-positive New Yorkers by giving them a home."

The Hull Street Residence is a housing development project that will be built from the ground up on a vacant 6,000-square-foot lot in Brooklyn, transforming into a home for 26 formerly homeless adults living with HIV/AIDS.
