Housing Works has announced that its popular Design on a Dime benefit is making its first appearance in Miami, at the Moore Building in the Miami Design District, from February 5 to 7, 2016. The nonprofit is liaising with 25 interior designers, who will each create room vignettes filled with new, donated designer, contemporary and vintage furniture, art, and home decor items. (As per tradition, the pieces will be available for purchase at the event for up to 80 percent off of retail.)

Participating designers that have been named so far include Brown Davis Interiors, MacDonald Design Associates, Fava Design Group, Wade Allyn Hallock, SoJo Design, and Taylor & Taylor, with more to be added.

“I believe the Miami design community and anyone interested in art, design and decor will find this event to be truly exciting,” said Michael Boodro, editor in chief of Elle Decor and co-chair of Design on a Dime Miami. “Elle Decor is proud to be Design on a Dime’s national media sponsor for five years running, and thrilled to be a part of the inaugural Miami event.”

“We’ve seen this event grow tremendously as New York City’s biggest—and most festive—interior design fundraiser,” said Andrew Greene, Housing Works SVP for development and marketing. “With such a large and progressive design community, expanding to Miami is a natural fit for the benefit. We’ve received an abundance of support from the local community, designers, sponsors, event chairs and benefit committee.”

Design on a Dime Miami is presented in partnership with Josh Wood Productions and Mark Stephen Experiential Agency, and its sponsors include the Miami Design District, Elle Decor, Cultured magazine, Shore Club South Beach, and The Points Guy.
