With featured designers Alexa Hampton, Christopher Peacock, Mick De Giulio, Robert and Cortney Novogratz, and Roger Thomas, the largest fair of its kind in the Midwest is coming back to the Design Center at the Merchandise Mart and LuxeHome. Design Chicago, held October 6 and 7, will feature a range of new programming, too: 35-plus education seminars and CEU seminars, more than three dozen showroom open houses,, and new product introductions from more than 65 showrooms.

“We are thrilled to produce Design Chicago as it draws a talented group of design icons, industry leaders and trade professionals to see what’s new at the Design Center and LuxeHome,” said Katherine Flaherty, vice president of Vornado | Merchandise Mart. “Through the featured presentations, CEU-accredited seminars, new product introductions, and networking events, we intend to provide attendees with the business know-how to keep up with the constantly-evolving marketplace.”

Educational seminars include Dwell President Michela O'Connor Abrams hosting “New Face of Affluence," Houzz’s Lindsey Thudin’s presentation of “Using Social Media to Promote Your Business,” and designer Lori Weitzner’s “The Preservation of Passion,” among others. The hallmark event will be October 6's Chicago VIP Luxury Gala, honoring the Midwest's top names in residential interior furnishings, architecture, interior design and custom home building. (Tickets are still available here.) Plus, the fair will fete three of the Windy City's rising design stars at the Ones to Watch celebration on October 7.
