Free films, festivals and lectures are coming to Pratt Institute’s School of Design, School of Architecture, School of Art, and School of Liberal Arts and Sciences this spring. The events, which will take place at Pratt’s Manhattan and Brooklyn campuses, will be hosted by the school’s resident experts.

School of Design Film Series: Dior and I

History of Art and Design Lecture Series:
“Sculpture, Space, Tradition and Time,” by Hal Foster
Writer and critic Hal Foster will lecture on modernist and contemporary art, architecture and theory. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A led by Evan Neely, visiting assistant professor, History of Art and Design. (Pratt Brooklyn Campus, Memorial Hall Auditorium, 200 Willoughby Ave.)

February 19
5:30 to 8 p.m.
The Road From Paris: The Future of Climate Change Adaptation
Professor Emeritus Ronald Shiffman hosts academics, planners, policymakers and activists in a series of public discussions on the outcomes of the Paris 2015 Climate Conference. “Debrief +” is the first lecture, and features Ghislaine Hermanuz, Jeffrey Raven, Andrew Revkin and Kellie Terry. Architect Grant Brooker
Internationally renowned architect Grant Brooker of Foster + Partners will speak about his career highlights and insights into the field of architecture. Fine Arts Faculty Joe Fyfe Lecture:
Russian-French Artist Serge Poliakoff
Associate Professor of Fine Arts Joe Fyfe will give a lecture on the Russian-born French painter Serge Poliakoff (1900-1969), one of the foremost postwar European abstractionists. The lecture is in tandem with a survey exhibition of Poliakoff’s paintings, which was organized by Fyfe and John Cheim, and will be on view at Cheim & Read Gallery March 31 to April 30.
