The Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club's "A Taste of Design" event on June 15 showcased partnerships between top designers and notable restaurants, such as The Cecil and O Ya. Stunning tablescapes spotlighted the evening's selection of bites and drinks, with notable attendees including Young Huh, Alberto Villalobos, Mercedes Desio, Michael Herold, Philip Mitchell, Charles Pavarini and Daniel Quintero.
The Cecil offered up Jumbo Pork Dumpling, Savory Green Curry, Grilled Pickled Peaches and Hen Egg while Kanpachi Sashimi (comprised of Vietnamese mignonette, fried shallots and Thai basil) was on the O Ya menu. North End Grill served Country Paté on toast, while Pier A delivered Shrimp and Chorizo Skewers and the Seamstress served guests Smoked Steelhead Salmon, Cucumber, Pickled Radish, Watercrest, Creme Fraiche and Sunchoke Salad.
“We were thrilled that A Taste of Design was such a success this year, bringing together top talent in the design and culinary industries today,” said Nazira Handal, Director of Special Events at the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. “Through events like A Taste of Design, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, and the Kips Bay President’s Dinner, we are not only helping to raise crucial funds for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, but we are also celebrating a huge milestone for the organization: 100 years of service to children.”
