Home Matters America is calling on architects, designers and allied professionals to re-define the home of the future for its latest Design Challenge. Home Matters is an organization seeking to decrease homelessness and increase affordable rent, homeownership and home and community quality.

Designers are asked to come up with creative design solutions for affordable homes and better communities across the country. Submissions should address and animate the connection to community factors such as health, education, individual success, public safety and a strong economy.

Home Matters aims to spread the idea of a new American dream, where a safe, nurturing environment with access to things such as healthcare, education and public spaces are a reality for everyone.

The top three juried submissions will receive monetary awards. The first place winning submission will be publicly exhibited to provide an experiential learning opportunity for the general public. More information, including submission requirements, can be found online. The deadline to submit is May 1.
