Fine Art Asia will return to Hong Kong’s Convention and Exhibit Center over October 2 to 5, during the city’s peak art season, with an expected 30,000 attendees. The fair, now it its 11th year, is organized by Art & Antique International Fair Ltd., and will showcase museum-quality goods ranging from antiquity through present day, in an exhibition comparable to Europe’s TEFAF and Masterpiece.
To help guarantee the products at the show are of high quality, each year an advisory committee is picked to select the exhibitors. Recently, Hong Kong has established itself as a significant member of the art world because of its access to China’s art and antique markets as well as to Japan, Taiwan and the rest of Southeast Asia. This year, the show coincides with the fall Sotheby’s auction, which is also taking place at the Convention and Exhibit Center, and is expected to draw in even more collectors, curators, connoisseurs and dealers.
Each year, around 80 exhibitors attend Fine Art Asia. The show’s international exhibitors will include Koopman Rare Art (London), with fine antique silver; Boghossían (Geneva, Hong Kong and London), with rare jewelry; Somlo Antiques (London), with antique timepieces; 88-Gallery (Paris and Hong Kong), with rare and original 20th-century decorative arts; Galerie Dumonteil (Paris, Shanghai and New York), with modern and contemporary Western art and sculpture; and Whitestone Gallery (Tokyo and Hong Kong), with masterpieces of Japanese and international 20th-century and contemporary art.
