For the second time, Shinola and WorkOf have collaborated on a holiday ornament collection from 30 designers and makers. All ornaments were exclusively made for the collaboration and will be auctioned off in partnership with Paddle8 to benefit the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit. Bidding will run through December 17.

“Each ornament created for the WorkOf + Shinola Holiday Ornament Auction is a small expression of the larger design practice of each participating studio. It’s an amazing way to highlight the contemporary design community that we work with and an opportunity to bid on a totally unique objet d’art that ultimately goes to supporting a fantastic organization,” Isaac Friedman-Heiman, creative director at WorkOf, tells EAL.

Each piece represents the maker’s design aesthetic and preference of materials. Some of the participating designers include Bower, Eric Trine, Chen Chen & Kai Williams, Haptic Lab, Bari Ziperstein, 100xbtr and Wolfum

“We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the second year of this collaboration with Shinola. Their continued commitment to high-quality, handmade, locally sourced is so impressive and aligns perfectly with our commitment to support the best independent design studios out there,” says Charlie Miner, WorkOf founder.

The collection debuted during Art Basel and Design Miami at Shinola’s Wynwood Miami store with Paddle8. Following Miami, the event will be re-created in their L.A. and TriBeCa locations on December 9 and 10.
