The Affordable Art Fair NYC opens at the Metropolitan Pavilion tonight, with 74 local, national and international exhibitors showing works from 500-plus artists. The collected works of contemporary art range from $100 to $10,000, and over 50 percent of the pieces are priced under $5,000. New exhibitors include Arthub of Brooklyn, Curioos of New York, and Gama Gallery of Istanbul. Among the fair’s programs are the Under $500 Wall and a partnership with the Art Therapy Outreach Center, showcasing artwork that reflects the concept of “turning negative energy positive.” Other features include the Young Talent Exhibition and the newly introduced Collectors Club.

“Affordable Art Fair NYC is about accessibility and variety, all nestled into one inspiring and engaging setting,” says Cristina Salmastrelli, the fair’s director. “That’s why our exhibiting galleries are so important to us. We want our visitors—both new and returning—to experience a fresh fair so that when they walk away, everyone has discovered something new about the contemporary art market.”

The show will run until October 2. Get the schedule online
