2012 marks centennial of design legend Ray Eames

Along with her husband, Charles Eames, the legendary American designer Ray Eames' birth. is credited with shaping American post-war design.

Starting next week, Herman Miller will offer a special limited-edition of its classic, 10-inch-tall Eames Wire Base Low Tables in three colors that pay homage to Ray Eames.

The three primary colors were Ray's favorites and replicate the colors used on the exteriors panels of their famous Case Study House #8. Built in 1949, this now landmark home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles served as their home and studio.

Ray is credited with her gift for color. The tables will be sold through the Spring of 2013 before being taken out of production.
