Designer Suzanne Tucker received the Design Leadership Network’s top award during the organization’s 10th annual summit last month in Los Angeles. Now in its second year, the Design Leadership Award honors leaders of the design community for having an impact on the industry and making change within the community.

“The Design Leadership Network was founded as a forum to create community, promote advocacy and educate our peers in a way that strengthens the design industry as a whole, and with this award, we take time to recognize those members who are leading the charge in building our community,” said Peter Sallick, founder of the Design Leadership Network, co-founder of Dering Hall, and CEO and creative director of Waterworks.

Tucker accepted the award, as well as a watch from Tiffany & Co., from Sallick and the 2014 award honoree, architect Marc Appleton.

Tucker is known for her award-winning design work via her firm Tucker & Marks. In 2010, she expanded with the brand Suzanne Tucker Home, which includes textile, tabletop and home furnishings lines. She has published two books, Rooms to Remember: The Classic Interiors of Suzanne Tucker and Suzanne Tucker Interiors: The Romance of Design. Tucker serves as founding director of the Northern California chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art; she is chair of the San Francisco Fall Antiques Show and sits on its advisory board; and she also serves on the West Coast Council of The Garden Conservancy.
