As an interior designer, you wear many hats, but does selling your services give you the proverbial ick? You’re not alone. Although self-promotion may currently fall outside your comfort zone, the key is to build confidence and clarity in your sales process. National sales training and business development expert Alison Mullins is here to help you do just that. In this session, she walks attendees through the ten pillars of a successful sales journey—from first inquiry to final invoice. She’ll teach you how to better understand your unique value proposition (UVP); enhance client communication; and feel more empowered navigating client objections, follow-ups and closeouts. With a focus on both the relational and tactical aspects of selling, her workshop gives designers new tools, a refreshed mindset and a practical road map for converting more consultations into committed projects.

In this class, attendees will learn:
- The essential steps in the sales journey, including lead-nurturing, pitching, targeted merchandising techniques, active listening, negotiating and closing cues
- How to define and convey a unique value proposition (UVP) that resonates with luxury clientele
- How to use body language, intuition and probing questions to earn client trust
- How to follow up without feeling like you’re chasing the sale

After this class, attendees will have:
- A clear understanding of how to structure a successful sales process tailored to the design client mindset
- An awareness of how to listen and activate client prompts to help guide conversations and counter objections
- A more confident approach to negotiation, knowing when to wait and when to act
- A sense of how to set expectations from the start of the inquiry
