On November 2, in celebration of its second annual showhouse—and in recognition of the gifted interior designers behind it—Flower hosted the opening night gala for Ivy House in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, an event replete with notable guests and breathtaking decor.
In partnership with Ivy Residential Concepts, Flower tapped 15 high-profile, Southern-based interior design talents to create inspirational spaces within the salles of the stately Georgian home on the Goodwood Estate. Lush floral arrangements adorned every corner, creating a memorable autumnal atmosphere on the eve of the showhouse’s opening to the public.
More than 175 guests attended the fete, including Flower editor in chief Margot Shaw, Barry Dixon, Mary McDonald, Jewel and Vincent Centanni, Arianne Bellizaire, Rachel Cannon, Kara Cox, James Farmer, Amanda Smith Fowler, Ashley Gilbreath, Chad Graci, Susan Hable, William Huff, Heather Dewberry, Benjamin Johnston, Megan Molten, Lisa Palmer, Ware Porter, Laura Roland and Veronica Solomon.
“The moment the doors flew open for the gala previewing our Baton Rouge Flower showhouse, guests and host alike knew we were in for something special,” said Shaw. “There was an electricity in the air. It was a shimmery evening spent in beautiful surroundings and the company of wildly talented designers, both floral and interior, the major league Flower team, the charming builder and homeowners, old friends and new, and even some local family. Spicy Louisiana fare and smooth jazz put the final exclamation point on the excellent evening. It was over too soon!”
