The Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles 2024 Home for the Holidays Showhouse was unveiled on November 20 at the Moonlight & Mistletoe Preview Party.
The house may be best known as the circa-1930s Tuxedo Park residence of legendary golfer Bobby Jones—and is believed to be the site where the Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament were conceived. The media brand transformed the sprawling residence into “Buckhead Country Club” for the night as guests donned their finest green-and-white, sipped custom Azalea cocktails, and enjoyed pitch-and-putt on a turf replica of the legendary course’s 12th hole, created by The European Company.
The freshly renovated 7,500-square-foot residence is located on two acres. Firelight Homes and Tish Mills Interiors, in collaboration with architectural design firm Kirk Design and landscape architecture firm Floralis Garden Design, have updated the storied residence (where former Georgia governor Carl Sanders also once lived) to today’s standards with an expansive addition, a reimagined floor plan and new entertaining spaces.
The Home for the Holidays Showhouse benefits the Atlanta History Center, an organization dedicated to preserving local history and culture.
Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles editor in chief Lauren Iverson and marketing coordinator Anna Muller kicked off the evening by acknowledging key players, including Atlanta History Center’s president and CEO Sheffield Hale, and celebrating the residence’s connection to local history. Renowned Atlanta-based interior designer Suzanne Kasler paid homage to the showhouse’s honorary chairs, Nina Nash Long and Don Easterling of Mathews Design Group.
More than 15 interior designers—including Design Galleria Kitchen and Bath Studio, Robert Brown Interior Design and Loren Taylor Interior Design—each added their signature design stamp to the residence. Around 300 guests enjoyed the exclusive first look with Esteem Media CEO Adam Japko and celebrated designer Matthew Quinn. A delicious dinner was provided by Avenue Catering.
“What an honor it is for Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles to play a key role in the revitalization of this historic 1930s residence,” says publisher Elizabeth Ralls. “Every partner on this project brought their A game, both inside and out, and it’s a house that honors the past without sacrificing forward-thinking design—a perfect representation of the content our audience associates us with.”
The Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse is open for tours Thursday through Sunday until December 15. Buy tickets here.
