The sparkle of Paris came to New York City on November 10 in celebration of Atelier de Ricou’s restoration of the Grand Ballroom and Stairway at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, which is housed inside the historic Payne Whitney House designed by Stanford White.
Hamish Bowles, Kendell Cronstrom, Alejandro Saralegui, Tori Mellott, Corey Damen Jenkins, Damian Samora, Stewart Manger, Cathy Lerebours and many more joined Atelier de Ricou directors Stéphanie de Ricou and Cyril de Ricou and project director Stéphane Marets for champagne and a private viewing of the Atelier’s expert artisanship.
“Renowned Paris-based decorative painting firm Atelier de Ricou brought their French magic and talent to New York City, with their remarkable restoration of the Grand Ballroom and Marble Room at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy,” said Guillaume Bouchez, managing partner of Par Excellence, the Manhattan-based French design collective where the Atelier is a member. “Who better to transform the space than artisans who impressed the international design community with their recently completed work at the Palace of Versailles?”
