This fall, Sherle Wagner International will host an Art Salon curated by Laura Dvorkin, Sean Mellyn and Maynard Monrow. Featuring 13 contemporary artists, the storied bath and hardware brand sees the exhibit as an opportunity for like-minded artists, designers and aficionados to gather together and celebrate their work.
150 guests attended the opening event on Thursday, Oct 4th. The exhibition will run through January of 2019.
Curated by a charismatic team of creatives, the salon features contemporary artists who work in various media and disciplines. Amongst them: Andrew Erdos, Billy Copley, John Gordon Gauld, Marissa Geoffroy, James Hyde, Liz Markus, Vincent Szarek, Jason Wright and Rob Wynne. Maynard and Mellyn will also be showing pieces of their own work.
“The designers we work with have a discerning eye and an appreciation for contemporary art,” says Jodi Imburgia, Sherle Wagner’s International Director of Marketing. “By hosting the salon we are extending an invitation to the worlds of art and design to come together for more than just another cocktail party, and to leave feeling reinvigorated and inspired.”
Regarding the Art Salon, Dvorkin stated, “Me and my co-curators are delighted to present these extraordinary artworks outside of the gallery model and always look for opportunities to expand the reach of contemporary art.” Monrow agrees, adding "never underestimate the power of beauty."
