On Thursday, September 18, Amuneal hosted an engaging panel discussion during the New York Design Center’s What’s New, What’s Next in anticipation of the company’s Los Angeles showroom opening. The discussion, titled “Across the Divide: What It Takes for Design Firms to Grow, Adapt and Thrive on Both Coasts,” was expertly moderated by Wrong House editor in chief Lila Allen and featured four distinguished panelists from bicoastal firms: Jennifer Daniels of Meyer Davis, Holly Hayden Taylor of Jeremiah Brent Design, Mark Olthoff of Olson Kundig and David Rau of Hart Howerton.
The conversation explored how design firms navigate the distinct tastes, business practices and cultural nuances of East and West Coast projects, offering a glimpse into the strategies that drive creative and commercial success across the country. Following the panel, guests enjoyed a celebratory cocktail hour and perused Amuneal’s refined collection of meticulously handcrafted furnishings, bespoke cabinetry and shelving, and archictectural lighting.
“Tonight was such an honor to be surrounded by so many talented voices, and to share a conversation about what drives us forward as a design community,” said Amuneal CEO Adam Kamens. “We’re so grateful for the chance to celebrate together in New York, and even more excited to carry this spirit with us as we open our doors in Los Angeles.”
Kamens and his wife, Kim, along with Amuneal’s sales and design team, welcomed guests to the event. Among the 105 celebrants were Analisse Taft Gersten of ALT for Living and James Gersten of Silver Street; Qiana Gibson of Frato; writer and visual artist Jason Haaf; Carine Karam of Unit London; Anna Mariotti of Meyer Davis; Paige McKinney, Ashton Geary and Kira MacLean of Jeremiah Brent Interiors; Michelle McLaughlin of Calyer Ceramics; Ashley Ross of Muse Noire Interiors; Vanessa Pierre of Vannie Paradis Design Studio; Stephanie Schwalb of Boston Magazine; Schuyler Sweet of Boyd Lighting; and Elizabeth Walsh of Chango. Also in attendance were design-world notables Alexandra Axiotis, Joanna Frank, Isabel Ladd, Jake Oliveira, Erin Shakoor and Edward Siegel.
