On September 14, The New York Design Center held its annual What’s New, What’s Next event welcoming over 2,600 industry professionals to 200 Lex. This year marked the return to the single day format which boasted over 95 participating showrooms, 75 programs and 125 Ambassadors from across the country.
This year’s WNWN hosted compelling panels on design, art, culture, wellness, sustainability and celebrated multiple showroom openings and luxury collection launches. Speakers included Diane von Furstenberg, Wendy Goodman, artists Jenson Titus and Nicholas Scheppard of TikTok’s Very Gay Paint, Pamela Jaccarino, editor in chief of Luxe Interiors + Design, Thom Filicia, Caleb Anderson and DeAndre DeVane of Well-Designed, Shelia Bridges, Ellen Hamilton, Michael Boodro and many other industry leaders.
WNWN marked the opening of many new and expanded showrooms in the building, including House of Hackney’s first and only U.S. trade showroom, Oly Studio, Jiun Ho, Merida, de Le Cuona, Konekt Studio and Fenestella at The Gallery at 200 Lex. Nine showrooms have opened since 2021’s event, with eight more iconic design brands slated to open by the end of 2022.
