From May 19 to 22, 700 exhibitors and over 30,000 professionals attended ICFF, including interior designers, architects, retailers, representatives, distributors, facility managers, developers, manufacturers, and store and visual merchandising designers. Among those in attendance were a group of Brazilian designers, makers and manufacturers from Raiz Project.
Raiz Project was born as a parallel activity of Orchestra Brasil, which began in 2006 and was aimed at the globalization of the Brazilian furniture industry supply chain. In 2012, the design sector was included, and in 2014 Raiz Project became an independent offshoot. The new brand expresses the sum of cultures that nourishes national creativity under the supervision of Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves.
Participating designers and companies from Raiz Project on hand at ICFF included Alessandra Delgado, Aristeu Pires, Guilherme Wentz, Guto Indio da Costa, Holaria, Jader Almeida, Konsepta, Larissa Batista, Marta Manente, NDT Design, Noemi Saga, Plataforma4, Ricardo Bello Dias, Sérgio Matos, Vallvé, and Wagner Archela.
“This edition is extremely important for us," said Ana Cristina Schneider, coordinator of the Raiz Project, “because consistency is a key factor for the success of an international project such as this one, and a majority of the exhibitors [have] been with us for a few years now and have gained direct recognition and business opportunities from international buyers, signaling the potential Brazil has in this market, one of the largest for furniture in the world.”
