Painting, plasterwork, restoration and conservation were the focus of ASID NY Metro’s first Emerging Designer Event this year. A group of emerging designers, along with Glenn Gissler, ASID NY Metro president and principal of Glenn Gissler Design, and Bonnie Hoeker, ASID NY Metro student representative, toured the EverGreene Architectural Arts studio. Members of EverGreene’s team showed the group what goes into restoring expansive murals, and also taught the attendees how to gild a piece of molding.
“It’s always great to have students and young designers visit the studio, because they get to see historic and older techniques in a new light and being practiced today,” says David Roccosalva, marketing director at EverGreene. “We enjoyed having the group and hope that the tour provided them with a new take on historic finishes.”
