What’s the inspiration behind the new collection?
The Solenne collection draws inspiration from movement and form. Parallel lines, soft curves and sculptural slats create a dialogue between structure and ease, resulting in a design language that feels both dynamic and serene.
What was the starting point for this collection?
We began with the ambition to design pieces that feel sculptural yet inviting—furniture that anchors a space with presence while also maintaining an openness and calm that encourages relaxation.
Was there a collaborative component?
This collection emerged through a close partnership with designer Ann Marie Vering. I asked Ann to challenge the way that we create quality outdoor furniture with aluminum. I wanted to push the limits of our manufacturing capabilities and design for outdoor seating. Together, we refined every detail to strike a balance between artistry and comfort.
How does this collection push the brand forward?
Solenne introduces a new sculptural language to Brown Jordan. With its 360-degree slatted design and architectural presence, the collection redefines what outdoor furniture can be—namely, an elevated blend of artistry and performance that feels fresh and forward-looking for the brand.
How does it complement your other offerings?
While Solenne is notably new, it stays true to our brand’s DNA: craftsmanship, refined materiality and enduring durability. Its architectural silhouette introduces a fresh design language, yet our ability to powder-coat in any color allows designers to seamlessly integrate Solenne with other Brown Jordan collections. What feels most exciting about this launch?
Hands down, we have created a collection that is unique in the outdoor world. It proves that at 80 years old, Brown Jordan is still the market leader in design, innovation and quality. The interplay of slatted designs and light, along with the way the pieces breathe, casting shadow and movement, make each one feel alive in its environment.
Which piece are you most excited to unveil?
The swivel lounge chair. Fluid, sculptural and unexpectedly functional, it embodies the essence of Solenne. Its concealed swivel mechanism adds an element of practicality to its beauty, allowing effortless movement and conversation from any angle.
