Collection Main Details
Pollack’s Multifaceted collection offers a breadth of textiles—spanning rustic to luxurious, bold patterns to plush textures, and sleek surfaces to soft, supple weaves. At its core, the collection celebrates nuance: in color, in surface, and in the interplay of materials. Pattern is never an afterthought; it is intentionally integrated with yarn and construction, each element working in harmony. Furthermore, Pollack introduces three new Hospitality fabrics. Rachel Doriss, design director for the brand, tells Business of Home about the debuts.
What about the collection feels fresh and exciting?
We have infused the collection with luxury. From Absolutely Alpaca, a thick, rich, cozy velvet, to Archive, a heavy Belgian linen with an organic graphic, to Gusto, a dense, chunky, multicolored chenille with a horizontal dashed effect, each fabric in the collection has a consideration for the hand and luxurious yarns regardless of the market we are designing for.
What piece are you most excited to unveil?
Multifaceted is a quintessential Pollack fabric. We have combined a graphic pattern with exciting embroidery techniques. There is a linear network created by a thick yarn stitching on the linen ground. Placed in the center of the network are hexagons made up of six embroidered triangles of two slightly varied lustrous yarn colors that catch the light differently. Two of the triangles are sliced by hand after embroidery, which creates a raised velvet surface. The position of the triangles changes in each hexagon, creating the illusion that they are turning. The hexagon motifs are like special jewels placed on the fabric.
The other fabric I am super excited about is Casa Stripe. This is a heavy, dry, multicolored vertical stripe. I have used seven different stripe colors that create an exciting play of shades in different widths. I have also added a surprise faux stitch in the jacquard pattern, which adds to the casual vibe of this dynamic pattern.
Tell us about the materials in this collection. Are there certain materials used throughout, and/or a material that is a highlight on a particular piece?
In the fabric Treasure Hunt, we have mixed gorgeous chenille and boucle yarns together to create a soft and rustic texture in two natural colorways. I have added a hint of Lurex yarn to give it an unexpected pop. I like the juxtaposition of rustic and glam. In Crossfade, there is a space-dyed boucle yarn that shifts from light to dark. We have woven this yarn both horizontally and vertically in a subtle check pattern. The shifting color creates the look of a watery plaid.
