Each year in December and June, Showtime, the semi-annual fabric market in High Point, NC, presents fabric, leather and trimmings to 1,000 visitors from all sectors of the home furnishings industry. Run by the International Textile Market Association (ITMA), the winter edition opened yesterday with a full schedule of panel discussions, lectures and networking events.

Product trends include “Cadaver Couture,” featuring friendly skulls dangling from chandeliers and charm bracelets, as well as in patterns on drapes and chaises—expect them for dinner, too, on placemats and tablewear; “Runway Fashion,” featuring high-end styles straight from the fashion runway trasnlasting to interiors; and new applications for trims and leather.

Industry bloggers including Traci Zeller of Traci Zeller Designs, Marisa Marcantonio of the Stylebeat blog, Tamara Matthews-Stephenson of Nest by Tamara, Jason Oliver Nixon and John Loecke of Madcap Cottage and Ronda Rice Carman of All the Best Blog, will be scouring the market for trends and highlights, and reporting their favorite products and finds through their blogs and social media throughout the week.

Show hours are 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8; 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9 and Tuesday, December 10; and 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11. Click here to register.
