It’s all about fabrics this September at the San Francisco Design Center (SFDC). The annual event, “Fall into Fabrics,” begins on September 5 and runs through September 27.

The SFDC describes the event as a month to explore, engage and enjoy the world of fabrics.  They invite attendees to come and meet nationally-recognized designers, view sumptuous fabrics from the SFDC showrooms, and participate in seminars.

Rhonda Hirata, Director of Marketing at the SFDC, said that out of the SFDC’s 100 showrooms, 40 of them carry fabrics and trims.

“Fall into Fabrics allows us to celebrate the crafts and techniques that epitomize the incredible breadth of fabrics available to the trade at the SFDC,” said Hirata.

There will be 19 events in total, spread over nine days, giving designers a wide spectrum of seminars to attend. Hirata highlights a few events attendees should try and key in on:

Alissa Carroll, Editor-in-Chief of the SFDC magazine 3D – Definitive Design & Décor, will explore the art of the textile in conversation with David Oldroyd, a Principal at Orlando Diaz-Azcuy, and interior designer Elizabeth Martin.

Michela O’connor Abrams, Preseident of Dwell Media, will share proprietary research findings on critical issues facing the interior design and architectural industries today. “Dwell is singular in conducting research dedicated to these two industries, and the findings will be enlightening,” said Hirata.
