Lecture series line-up announced for High Point Market

The High Point Market Authority, in association with the American Society of Interior Designers, is producing a seminar series for interior designers during the October High Point Market.

“The interior design community is one of the fastest-growing constituencies at the High Point Market, and this lecture series is just one of the many tools we are providing to help designers make the most of their Market experience," said Brian Casey, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority.

“Events like these strengthen the interior design profession by improving competencies, knowledge, and skills in subject areas essential to the growth and success of our industry," said Heidi Salati, director of education, ASID.

Topics and speakers for the October Design Viewpoints Lecture Series include:

Getting Your Projects Published Today: Unconventional Tips from Media Experts. Moderated by The Editor at Large’s Julia Noran, editors from traditional and digital media share the project selection processes at their publications and offer tips for getting your work the attention it deserves. Discussion will include photography guidelines, presentation ideas, successful pitches, and more. Panelists include Veranda contributing editor Deborah Sanders, Rue founder and editor Crystal Gentilello, designer and Design Therapy blogger Brad Ford, and Traditional Home's senior design and lifestyle editor Jenny Bradley. (Sunday, Oct. 17, 12pm)

The Buzz: Creating Excitement for You and for Your Business. Some people seem to naturally have that “it” factor, but anyone can create a buzz around their name or their business with the right tools. Lifestyle gurus Eddie Ross and Jaithan Kochar show you how to generate buzz and to promote your business through social media, word of mouth, and other unconventional means (Monday, Oct. 18, 12pm)

Finding the Home within Your Client. Renowned interior designer and author Vicente Wolf tells you how to simplify the creative process with clients, to expand their thinking and to connect with them on an emotional level. Tips and ideas will show you how to get to the heart of what your client wants, and to simplify their dreams into a livable reality. Book signing to follow, featuring Vicente Wolf's newest book, Lifting the Curtain on Design. (Tuesday, Oct. 19, 12pm)
