Eight designers, members of High Point Market’s Style Spotter team, culled top products from April’s market for the newly debuted Summer/Fall Style Report. With the guidance of Style Spotter Emeritus Michelle Jennings Wiebe, the designers, Malene Barnett, Laura Bielecki, Marie Flanigan, Brynn Olson, Anne Sage, Laura Umansky, Erika Hollinshead Ward and Scot Meacham Wood, named a number of trends found at this past market.

Some highlights include: geometric patterns, island-inspired design, materials like rattan and crystal, and scalloped edges. Explains Wiebe, “My most surprising finding in this spring’s trend report is the comprehensive cross-section of materials, styles, shapes and colors represented! The looks run the gamut from casual to formal, soft to cutting edge, and traditional to contemporary. Each designer brings a unique creative perspective to their treasured finds. My favorite piece is Brynn Olson’s selection of the Jean-Louis Deniot Iron Eye Credenza for Baker Furniture: a deconstructed Louis XVI dresser. It’s a fresh, modern take on a historical piece. I love it!”

“Readers will be shown the hottest pieces for 2016, as curated through the eyes of our talented crew of 2016 Style Spotters,” Wiebe tells EAL. “I am certain they will enjoy this trend report.” The report can be read in full online.
