This year's Good Design Awards, organized by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, is being stamped on everything from dining chairs to a unique sofa to lighting to tableware. What's more: the winning companies will have a chance to exhibit the items at an upcoming trade show.

All the Good Design Award winners will receive an award certificate. They will also be exhibited and promoted at G-Exhibition, one of the biggest design exhibition events in Asia, Nov. 5 through 8.
Established in 1957, the Awards have been given to approximately 40,000 outstanding designs throughout the 55 years. Winners range from industrial products to architecture to applications, services communication design, business model design, and more. Each year, the awards attract approximately 3,000 submissions from more than 1,000 companies and designers from all over the world each year.
