Elle Decor will honor style leaders and design visionaries with its second annual Women in Design event on Monday, Oct. 26, at The TimesCenter in New York. The invitation-only evening is hosted by ELLE DECOR Editor in Chief Margaret Russell and Caroline Baumann, Acting Director of Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution.

Four women featured in ELLE DECOR’s November issue for their achievements in design will serve as panelists during the event: interior designer Holly Hunt, CEO of Holly Hunt; interior designer and author Charlotte Moss; Michelle Nussbaumer, interior designer and president/CEO of Ceylon et Cie; and interior designer and author Kelly Wearstler. (Josie Natori, president and CEO of the Natori Company, is also honored in ELLE DECOR’s November issue, but will not appear on the panel.)

During the Women in Design event, Holly Hunt, Charlotte Moss, Michelle Nussbaumer, and Kelly Wearstler will discuss their distinct style viewpoints, their tips for longevity in the world of design, and the challenges that each of them has faced in their careers. The evening will also feature an awards presentation as Charlotte Moss is honored with the second annual ELLE DECOR Vision Award.

“Women in Design recognizes inspiring women who are making their mark in a field historically dominated by men and are prospering in a challenging economic environment,” says ELLE DECOR’s Margaret Russell. “Each of these women has forged her own path and developed her own unique style viewpoint, in the process changing the course of the design industry and remaking the world into a more beautiful, more livable place."

“Women in Design brings together the best and the brightest in their fields,” adds cohost Caroline Baumann. “The Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum is delighted to be a part of a program that recognizes these notable women who are infusing the world with design innovation.”

Women in Design is sponsored by Cooper-Hewitt, Ann Sacks, Kallista, Karastan,

Oly, and Sferra.
