Comings & Goings: Design professionals on the move

The year is slowing down and winding to a close, but industry pros are still making last-minute moves and career changes. Discover who’s who, and who’s where, in EAL’s monthly roundup.

Design & Architecture

Michael G. Imber Architects, based in San Antonio, has announced the addition of two new team members, Daniel Witt and Jim Lenahan.

Tom Stringer Design Partners has announced the promotion of John Cialone to partner and vice president. Cialone has over 25 years of design experience and serves on the boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the American Society of Interior Designers.

New York-based firm TPG Architecture has announced a number of new hires, including Mark Ruzzier as associate and senior project manager, Doug West as design director and Laura Robertson as senior designer. Ruzzier’s previous experience includes working at Gensler, Perkins Eastman, and most recently, Huntsman Architectural Group. West brings 17 years of professional experience and also currently teaches a class at NYSID on sustainable design; and Robertson arrives with prior experience as a senior designer at MKDA.

Editorial & Publishing

Emmanuelle Groc-Mentor is the newly appointed media manager at Assouline, replacing Beatrice Saffre. She brings experience from Karla Otto and KCD.

Alan Blaustein has joined Sandow as the new president of Luxe Interiors + Design, bringing experience with new media and digital platforms, as well as a background in operations and executive leadership. Also, Janice Browne is now Luxe’s senior vice president and group publisher, responsible for the sales organization. Her previous titles at the publication include New York publisher, vice president and group publisher, overseeing national sales and several local markets.

PR & Marketing

VP+C has announced a number of management changes: Founding partner and principal Esther Perman is relocating to West Palm Beach, Florida, where she'll continue working full-time as chief writer, editor and senior strategic counsel. Additionally, Lisa Jasper will become an active principal, joining the C-Suite as chief innovation officer and leading daily operations on PR accounts. Michelle Shen has been promoted to vice president, while Meghan Dockendorf has been promoted to account director.

Henry Hart recently joined Arteriors as international sales manager, tasked with leading the company’s expanding international business. He brings more than 15 years of experience in global sales, business development and brand management to the company, and relocates to Dallas from Italy, where he spent eight years heading the international expansion of luxury apparel brands.

Marianne Boschert has joined DADA Goldberg, where she is working with clients that include Stonehill & Taylor, Hellman-Chang, The John Hardy Group (and Radical Innovation Award), and MNDPC.

Stacy Montero has left UpSpring PR to join JanMacBrands as PR director, where she is working with clients that include AKDO, Darrin Varden Design, Holiday House, Marks & Frantz Design, Marks & Tavano Workroom, and Michael Tavano Design.

Jackie Paulsen has joined Currey & Company as director of marketing. Her previous experience includes work with The Merchandise Mart, Henredon, Ralph Lauren Home, Barbara Barry, and Kirsch. In her new role, she will be charged with translating the company’s core business objectives into key marketing strategies.
