Casa Wynwood, the members-only design space, gallery and venue in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District, will host works by finalists in the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series this October. Artists interested in submitting work can do so online. The series, now in its seventh iteration, is a collaboration with Russell and Danny Simmons’ Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, which aims to celebrate the work of emerging visual artists. Thousands of artists submit work each year, and this year, the competition is open to Canadian entrants as well.
“We’re thrilled and honored to be hosting the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series at [Casa Wynwood],” says Boyd Tasker, the venue’s co-founder. “We founded [Casa Wynwood] here, in one of the most creative neighborhoods in the world, as a place for established and emerging artists to come together and inspire each other toward greater artistic achievement. The Artisan Series salutes that same spirit in recognizing excellence in the visual arts.”
Casa Wynwood is known for spotlighting high-end art, home decor, fashion, and luxury products.
“Since our opening during last year’s Art Basel Miami, we’ve displayed work from many extremely talented artists, both well known and newcomers, and hosted many art-themed events,” says Casa Wynwood co-founder Christi Tasker. “The Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series showcase promises to fill our gallery once again with truly exceptional pieces. The series asks the question, ‘What will you create?’ We can’t wait to find out.”
