The third annual Boston Design Week, a 12-day citywide festival running March 30 to April 10, 2016, has issued a call for events. Participation is open to greater Boston individual designers, collaboratives and collectives, design-related businesses, and nonprofit organizations, plus national and international design firms interested in sharing their work in Boston.
“Our continuing mission is to increase public awareness and appreciation of all aspects of design and foster recognition of the vital role design and our creative industries play in our lives,” says Boston Design Week co-producer Tony Fusco. “Unless you are standing out in the middle of nature, everything around you is consciously designed: from the clothes you wear, to the phone you carry, to your home, workplace and beyond. Good design has the power to touch us, to lift us up, to make our lives better, and impart a profound sense of well-being. Bad design can have the opposite effect.”
The Week has been extended by an extra day this year, starting on March 30 and ending with the ninth annual “AD20/21: Art & Design of the 20th & 21st Centuries” show at the Cyclorama, April 7 through 10.
