This week, Architectural Digest named 10 up-and-coming designers, architects, artisans and tastemakers as 'Ones to Watch' for the coming year.
AD has a long history of spotlighting gifted industry professionals at all stages of their careers. Biannually the magazine creates AD100—which celebrates industry leaders at the height of their powers. As a supplement to AD100, AD is launching Ones to Watch, a portfolio of talents on the rise. Some are relatively new to the scene, others are more experienced but only recently ventured out on their own. Either way, they’ve caught AD's attention, take a look:
Kyle DeWoody—The tastemaker behind the online shop Grey Area is redefining the design boutique on and off the web.
Reinaldo Leandro and Ariel Ashe—The architect and the former set designer combine their points of view to create modern and imaginative interiors at their firm Ashe + Leandro.
Eric Walter and Steve Mongillo of MW Works—The Seattle-based design duo create stunning architecture with a modernist sensibility.
Tommy Clements—The son of a Los Angeles interior designer has developed his own adventurous eye and list of high-profile clients.
Anna Karlin—From graphics to furniture design, this multidisciplinary artist has learned to juggle many roles.
Paul Renwick—The textile designer brings a masculine edge to embroidered fabrics.
Neal Beckstedt—Inspired by the simple structures of his rural upbringing, this Manhattan interior designer crafts modern, functional spaces.
Melissa Miles Rufty—The Louisiana designer seamlessly melds opulence and family heirlooms with Southern hospitality.
Lauren Geremia—The RISD grad creates whimsical installations and interiors for tech start ups and their design-savvy executives.
David M. Sullivan—Once a student of sculpture, the interior designer has created a signature style that utilizes expert craftsmanship to transform industrial materials.
