As part of its Emerging Designer Event series, ASID NY Metro hosted a tour of Material ConneXion’s New York City showroom for local design students on September 15. The company is a leader in material innovation, and designs new products utilizing smart materials. ASID NY’s Laura Bohn and Bonnie Hoeker, student representative to the board, organized the event, and Michael LaGreca, Material ConneXion’s vice president of library sales, guided the attendees through the showroom, describing the materials and explaining how they are used.

“Material ConneXion exposed me and my peers, who are hungry for the latest and greatest, to a plethora of innovative material,” says Faith Hoops, interior design student and ASID committee member. “The ASID Emerging Designer Event Series allowed us to get up-close and personal with these cutting-edge materials and finishes. Our host, Michael LaGreca, was super informative, educating us all on the fun materials they have.”
