On Thursday, September 23, the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center presented the 2021 Southeast Designers and Architect of the Year Awards to the region’s most creative and innovative minds in the categories of residential design, contract design, and architecture. The celebration of this year's winners, who were chosen by top industry professionals and narrowed down from more than 20 exceptionally talented and influential finalists, brought the annual Discover ADAC fall market to a festive close.
Paul Bates of Paul Bates Architects took home Southeast Architect of the Year, Blackberry Farm Design won Southeast Contract Designer of the Year, and Betsy Brown of Betsy Brown Inc. was honored as Southeast Residential Designer of the Year. The judges included interior designer Ashley Whittaker, architect Peter Pennoyer, and Veranda executive editor Ellen McGauley.
“This year, we were honored to name 22 finalists from across the Southeast,” said Katie Miner, general manager of ADAC. “Each finalist showcased an incredibly high caliber of artistry in their work, so it was no easy task for our judges to narrow this influential group down to our three winners. The excellence of their work is inspiring.”
