High-Gloss Glam: Inside the Benjamin Moore Boardroom at Madison Square Garden
In celebration of their ongoing and evolving partnership, which began in 2021, Benjamin Moore and Madison Square Garden collaborated on a visionary new space within the iconic venue, enlisting Sasha Bikoff—a native New Yorker and lifelong patron—to craft a luxe hospitality lounge blending bold design with timeless style. The unique opportunity enabled the designer to imagine an urban retreat that would resonate with the millions of visitors who attend events at the arena each year. “This isn’t just for a private home; it’s a space many can enjoy,” she says. The Benjamin Moore Boardroom, an exclusive VIP suite, features vibrant colors, rich materials and sophisticated details, all anchored by the brand’s legendary paints.
To celebrate the opening, more than 100 industry notables gathered for a fete as glamorous as its setting. Guests including Ahmad AbouZanat, Rayman Boozer, Antonio DeLoatch, Josh Greene, Gala Magriñá, Erin Shakoor, Lisa Walker Brown and Mikel Welch enjoyed an exclusive preview, signature cocktails and music by DJ Jack Abrams. Special remarks from Bikoff, Harriette Martins, senior vice president of marketing at Benjamin Moore, and Jennifer Caruso, senior vice president of partner success and global partnerships at Madison Square Garden, added a personal touch, spotlighting the significance of the space and its stunning transformation.
The speakeasy-inspired private club, chock-full of New York character, serves as a hidden gem within the bustling arena. Its interior is intensely dynamic. Bikoff selected three shades of red—Classic Burgundy HC-182, Raspberry Truffle 2080-10 and Neon Red 2087-10—to infuse the lounge with vibrancy and style. “Red is the color of celebration, and it’s tied to both Benjamin Moore and the New York Rangers,” she explains. The high-gloss finish is a standout feature, creating incredible reflectivity and shine. “The colors just pop,” she adds.
Basking in the radiant glow of the walls, luxury surfaces from Cosentino and decorative and architectural lighting from Visual Comfort & Co. complete the scheme. The end result exudes warmth, coziness and richness while simultaneously conveying New York’s infamous energy. “This room needed to feel alive, just like the city itself,” says Bikoff.
