Job Description

The role of a Senior Interior Designer is integral to the success of our interior design projects. SDs are well-rounded individuals who have both the ability and experience to work from the concept phase through execution and installation. Senior Designers will implement their project management and design skills. They will be able to take ownership of the projects they are working on, while still being guided by the Studio

Leader and Principal. SD’s will guide their team through the design process, reviewing CAD drawings. They will participate throughout the construction phase to ensure the design intent is realized. To be successful in this position, an SD must have a positive, can-do attitude.

Required Credentials

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design

• 5-7 years experience in residential Interior Design and project management

• High level of knowledge of the interior design market and FF&E

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Microsoft office

• Proficient in related design software, such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Sketch Up

• Knowledge of furniture specifications

• Willingness to travel

Responsibilities: We’ll count on you

• Lead the design process from initial concept development to final execution

• Manage and mentor team of Junior Designer and Drafters, providing guidance and feedback throughout the design process

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design team, engineers, contractors, and vendors 

• Create detailed furniture plans, elevations, RCPs, and other technical drawings

• Review and approve proposals, purchase orders, and shop drawings

• Develop design documentation including shop drawings and specifications

• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and tradespeople to ensure adherence design intent and company quality standards are seamless

• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and resolve any design-related issues that may arise

• Serve as main point of contact for clients and design team

• Attend shopping visits to select materials, finishes, furnishings, and furnishes

• Oversee the production of high-quality design visuals and presentations that effectively communicate the proposed design direction

• Stay up to date with industry trends, new materials, regulations, codes, and emerging technologies to continually enhance design capabilities
