M. Elle Design is looking for a professional, organized, self-starter with a good attitude to join our close-knit team. The Senior Designer will report to our Creative Director, Marie Carson, to aid in the design and execution of clients’ projects. The Senior Designer will support Marie on multiple projects and help ensure each project runs smoothly from start to finish. Their duties include completing and managing the day-to-day tasks involved in planning and implementing a project, like liaising with client and contractor, documenting project site visits, coordinating with vendors, preparing client presentations and reporting project progress. The Senior Designer will be responsible for aiding Marie in client and site meetings as well as running those meetings independently. The Senior Designer is encouraged to bring their own design ideas to the table and create project design boards to present to Creative Director.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Liaising with Creative Director concerning project details and deliverables.
• Liaising with client, contractor and architect regarding project status updates and deliverables.
• Helping to coordinate and manage project tasks and deliverables such as construction schedules and ensure all deadlines are being met.
• Assisting Creative Director in the preparation of client presentations and site meetings by putting design concepts together and making sure all pertinent project documents, plans, samples, and imagery are organized and available. Also needs to be able to run the client site and design meetings independently.
• Working with, managing, and overseeing assistant designer with duties such as obtaining vendor quotes, drafting and presenting client proposals, creating purchase orders and executing and tracking of said purchase orders.
• Tracking and reporting project progress ensuring all deadlines are being met.
• Running project job installations.
Skills and Requirements:
• Proficient in Excel, InDesign, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Design Manager (or similar) software.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Experience managing $1M+ project budgets.
• Ability to travel both locally and out of city/state for jobsite visits and project installations.
