BLI is seeking a talented and detail oriented Junior Designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has strong creative and technical skills as well as line up aesthetically with the firm. Has a point of view and style that can add to our team!
Work with team members to manage all phases of the design process.
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to follow through on assigned tasks independently.
Must have great interpersonal skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to multitask and prioritize workflow to meet multiple deadlines.
Must have and appreciation for aesthetics and care to be presentable to clients and vendors.
Must be able to identify and implement actionable steps to resolve problems. This includes the ability to research and critically review information, then format it so it may be presented to the team for discussion.
Vendor Responsibilities:
Obtain all vendor-related information to execute accurately:
Furniture plan and elevation drawings in CAD.
Create and issue proper construction related documentation.
Create and issue presentation documents including rendered elevations.
Create estimate requests and purchase orders.
Be able to meet with vendors on site and in office to initiate and refine their work orders.
Verify details that align with the budget, schedule, logistics, and client requests as they are developed.
Office Responsibilities:
Maintain project server folder, binders, and material trays.
Coordinate with outside architects, contractors and subcontractors to define and maintain optimal
project schedule with guidance from the intermediate or Senior Designer.
Assist in maintenance of server library (both project specific and studio wide CAD Library).
Prepare invoice packages in alignment with project needs and assist lead designer in budget updates.
Client Responsibilities:
Prepare for small review as needed for miscellaneous open items. The Junior Designer will help with preparation;
Intermediate and Senior Designers present to clients.
Create presentation documents including floor plans, interior elevations, and design presentations as per BLI Handbook guidelines.
Maintain project notes and meeting agendas, issuing regular updates to the team and clients.
Field measure and accurately document site conditions.
