Lyons Studio is looking to hire a part time design assistant to join our growing creative team! The role is primarily to support the design principal remotely but some on site visits and client facing interactions will be part of the role. You will be part of designing mid-high end residential spaces that typically have an element of renovation. The applicant must be able to easily commute Brooklyn and Manhattan at unspecified times/dates for client needs.
While the position is primarily remote there will be some in person client meetings, site visits and internal meetings in NYC.
Salary: $35.00 per hour minimum / can increase or be higher for more candidates with greater than 3 years experience in the field.
Schedule:
Available remotely between the hours of 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday
Generally 7-10 hours of work a week
Some in person showroom visits, client meetings and site supervision
Responsibilities:
Purchasing and Procurement including approvals from clients
Delivery scheduling
Sourcing as needed
Design Presentations as needed
Showroom visits with clients
Site visits during construction and installs
Keeping track of budgets, schedules and approvals
Communicating with vendors and getting quotes
Assisting in designing of spaces as needed
Skills Required:
Must: **be in a location that is an easy commute to Manhattan and Brooklyn**
Must: AutoCAD - basic skills
Must: Adobe InDesgin and Photoshop for presentation work
Very Organized, can keep track of scheduling and multiple orders
Client facing abilities
Design Training either a degree in a design field, architectural field or related
Some experience with construction is desired
Experience working in an architecture or interior design firm required
If you have an architectural background some other job elements would apply such as providing drawings, elevations and supervision on site construction.
