McCoy Design Studio is growing and we’re looking for a detail-loving, CAD-savvy, wildly organized design assistant to become the production backbone of our studio.
This role begins part-time with a clear path to full-time for the right person. You’ll work directly with the principal designer to bring high-end residential projects from concept to reality.
This role is perfect for someone who:
Loves CAD drawings, elevations, and technical details
Is energized by spec sheets, sourcing, and making things make sense
Is highly organized, proactive, and professionally polished
Wants to grow into a long-term role in a fast-moving, creative studio
Has a good sense of humor (because we’ll be working closely and laughing is mandatory)
You’ll be responsible for:
Producing CAD drawings and design documentation
Creating and maintaining spec sheets and schedules
Assisting with sourcing, ordering, and project coordination
Supporting the execution of multiple high-end residential projects
Helping transform design concepts into beautifully finished spaces
You must have:
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Strong technical drawing and dimensioning skills
Experience creating elevations, floor plans, and construction drawings
Comfort working with spec sheets, finish schedules, and material documentation
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Clear, professional written and verbal communication
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
A calm, solutions-first mindset when things get spicy (construction always gets spicy)
SketchUp and/or rendering experience
Residential design studio experience
Familiarity with ordering, lead times, and vendor coordination
Confidence reading plans, specs, and builder drawings
A polished, professional presence
