We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Interior Design Assistant to support our residential firm in Westchester Countyt. This is a freelance, project-based position with highly flexible hours (approx 20-30 hrs/mo). This role is ideal for a proactive individual who is looking to learn the ins and outs of the business through a mix of creative design support, product procurement, administrative management, and hands-on field work.
-Assist in creating mood boards, sourcing fabrics/finishes/furnishings, and developing floor plans using [AutoCAD/SketchUp].
-Drive to project sites in Westchester, NY and Southern CT for measurements, site visits, and photo documentation.
-Coordinate with showrooms and local vendors to track orders, manage deliveries, and pick up samples.
-Help prepare digital and physical presentations for client meetings.
-Maintain and update the design library and project documentation.
Applicants must have a passion for interiors. A formal design degree is not required, but related experience or degree preferred. Students OK. Must have proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar software. Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for travel between Westchester and Southern CT showrooms and job sites. Applicants will be extremely detail-focused, with strong communication skills (in person and written), and the ability to work independently. Additional writing and marketing work is available, but not essential to this position.
