Studio Kestrel
New York City, Hamptons, Miami
Studio Kestrel is a full-service residential interior design firm based in New York City, with projects across Manhattan, the Hamptons, and Miami. Founded by Paul De Andrade, the studio designs private homes for homeowners who want interiors that feel warm, personal, and deeply lived-in — the opposite of the cold, over-styled look that dominates most luxury design today.
Our work spans full-gut renovations, whole-home turnkey builds, and thoughtful refreshes of existing residences. We collaborate closely with architects, builders, and trades from the earliest design brief through installation and styling, and every project is delivered with the same nine deliverables: needs analysis, floor plans, elevations, FF&E specification, custom millwork, procurement, project management, site supervision, and final styling. Recent work includes a full-gut renovation and combination of two units at 57 Ocean in Miami's Mid-Beach — a wraparound residence overlooking the Atlantic — a pied-à-terre at 50 West 66th Street on Manhattan's Upper West Side filled with custom organic modern furnishings and integrated built-ins, and the Southampton Family Retreat, a full-home renovation featured in the July 2026 issue of Modern Luxury Hamptons.
Paul's background shapes the studio's point of view. He studied biomedical engineering at Georgia Tech, holds a master's in journalism from Columbia, and completed a fellowship in nanotechnology at the Harvard Center for Nanoscale Systems before founding the studio. Born in Brazil, he spent every summer in the Cotswolds and speaks four languages. He cycled from Atlanta to Buenos Aires, taught English across South America and Europe, and traveled extensively by motorcycle through Asia, New Zealand, and India — a body of experience that shapes the studio's approach to color, architecture, and how a home actually works when you live in it. Interiors are grounded in natural colors, honest materials, and spatial logic informed by feng shui principles.
