What’s the inspiration behind the new collection?
Our spring/summer 2024 collection draws its inspiration from the interplay of natural elements and contemporary design philosophies. By embracing the inherent beauty and texture of materials such as linen, wool and specially treated paper, Élitis has crafted a line that speaks to a harmonious balance between modernity and the time-honored allure of artisanal craftsmanship. The inspiration is deeply rooted in the tranquility and serenity of nature, translated into wallcoverings that breathe life and calm into any space.
What was the starting point for this collection?
We began with a deep dive into the possibilities of texture and form as mediums of expression within interiors. By experimenting with the sculptural potential of fabrics and papers, Élitis set out to redefine wallcoverings as not just backgrounds but elements integral to the creation of a space. The exploration of 3D textures and nuanced palettes was guided by a desire to infuse interiors with depth, warmth and a sense of bespoke luxury.
What piece are you most excited to unveil?
Among the many innovative offerings, the standout designs are the sculpted paper wallcoverings in the Hanji series. These creations, inspired by midcentury mosaic murals and crafted entirely from paper pulp, showcase natural hues and shimmering touches, representing a pinnacle of craftsmanship and design innovation. Their ability to transform a space with light and texture is particularly exciting.
How do you feel this collection pushes the brand forward?
It marks a significant evolution for Élitis by integrating cutting-edge 3D technology with traditional materials, thereby introducing a new dimension of depth and interaction in wallcoverings. The inclusion of hand-sculpted paper and the bold use of raw, natural textures redefine luxury in interior design, showcasing the brand’s commitment to innovation and its vision for the future.
How does the collection build on or complement your other offerings?
This new collection complements Élitis’s existing portfolio by introducing new textures and materials that not only expand the brand’s color palette but also introduce innovation through the use of 3D techniques and sculpted paper. These new additions, with their bold geometric patterns, seamlessly blend with and enhance our diverse range of wallcoverings. For instance, the tactile softness of the new velvet and faux suede offerings can be juxtaposed against the sleek lines of earlier collections for a multidimensional look. This approach allows for a richer, more layered ambiance and exploration of space, providing designers with endless possibilities to craft unique environments.
What about the collection feels fresh and exciting?
The fresh and exciting element of this collection lies in its adventurous foray into the use of color and light, exploring how these elements can shape perceptions of space and texture. From the iridescent shimmer of sculpted paper to the dynamic, color-blocked geometrics of the 3D wallcoverings, each piece is designed to captivate and inspire, opening new avenues for creative expression.

This selection, refined through advanced technologies, achieves unparalleled softness and depth, making each material not just a part of the decor but a standout feature in its own right. The sculpted paper is particularly significant, offering a unique tactile experience and aesthetic appeal that captures the interplay of light and shadow, transforming walls into dynamic works of art. These materials, carefully chosen for their ability to interact with light, add warmth, depth and character, emphasizing the collection’s craftsmanship and design ingenuity.
