What’s the inspiration behind the new collection?
The collection draws from the calm and quietude of the desert—where time stretches, light shifts slowly, and every form feels shaped by something elemental. Citizen Artist was inspired by sacred geometry found in nature, the subtle fluidity of dunes, and the ever-changing relationship of shadow and sun across vast, arid landscapes.
What was the starting point for this collection?
It began with a study of light and stillness in desert environments—how color softens under prolonged exposure, materials weather over time, and form can feel both grounded and elevated. From there, a palette of terra cotta, ocher, sun-washed ivory and verdigris emerged naturally.
How did the collaboration come about?
This collection is a collaboration between Global Views and Citizen Artist. We’ve worked closely with the Citizen Artist team for years, and this collection marks an exciting evolution of that relationship as it launches at High Point.
How do you feel this collection pushes the brand forward?
Citizen Artist brings a deeply narrative and emotionally resonant approach to design. Each piece is rooted in story and intention, with a balance of restraint and originality. The result is a collection that feels timeless and forward-looking, expanding the brand into a more expressive, art-driven space.
How does the collection build on or complement your other offerings?
The collection introduces a distinct atmospheric and narrative point of view while integrating seamlessly through its craftsmanship and use of materials. Natural materials and a grounded, desert-inspired palette allow it to sit comfortably alongside existing offerings and add a new perspective to our already diverse catalog.
What about the collection feels fresh and exciting?
There’s a quiet boldness to it. The forms are inherently organic and intentional, and the palette is restrained yet evocative. It creates a strong sense of mood, with pieces that feel collected, storied and emotionally engaging.
What piece are you most excited to unveil?
The upholstery is a standout. The Nomade sofa reinterprets the classic camelback silhouette through a landscape lens, translating its familiar curve into a sculptural, dunelike form. Upholstered in cotton velvet with tonal bullion fringe, the piece balances softness and structure, drawing on traditional upholstery while expressing a more modern, grounded sensibility. The textures, tones and silhouettes feel especially refined, with a softness and depth that captures the spirit of the collection beautifully.
Tell us about the materials in this collection. Are there certain materials used throughout, and/or a material that is a highlight on a particular piece?
Materials are central to the collection. We worked with natural stones from India, Portuguese ceramics, oak, cast aluminum, rattan, terra cotta and richly textured velvets. Each was chosen for how it reflects light, ages over time, and contributes to the tactile, grounded quality of the pieces.
How do you envision designers using this collection?
The collection is designed to feel curated and flexible. Pieces can anchor a space as sculptural statements or be layered together to create a cohesive, immersive environment. It invites designers to build beautiful spaces that are imbued with intention and deeply atmospheric.
