What’s the inspiration behind the new collection? 
We specialize in multifunctional transforming furnishings that harmonize aesthetics, comfort and flexibility—and we are always seeking out innovations to make our spaces even more efficient and our lives even easier. Our new collection features a wide array of technological integrations that do exactly that: From motorized wall beds and USB ports and sockets to integrated LED lighting and built-in wire prep, these pieces come equipped with everything you need to live, work, host and play. We’re designing furniture that’s built for the future.

What was the starting point for this collection?
This collection came from our continuous desire to innovate—to create beautiful, functional pieces of furniture that work with the ebb and flow of our daily lives. Whether you work from home, enjoy entertaining or are expanding your family, we all invariably need our spaces to perform with greater flexibility every day. With remote work here to stay and demands on the home ever increasing, adding technology to furniture just makes sense. This collection builds on our pursuit of perfection by creating classic furniture that’s made to last a lifetime, while incorporating tech for even more convenience and ease.

What piece are you most excited to unveil?
As excited as we are about every new piece in our collection, we’re most thrilled about the Tonale sectional. It’s our first wall bed with a motorized open/close option, and we’ve created a motorized system like no other. With the push of a button, Tonale transforms from a two- or three-seat sofa to a queen-size bed in only 15 seconds. It’s also completely silent, with no irritating buzzes from the motor, making the transformation seem like magic. Motion sensors detect obstructions in Tonale’s path, ensuring the bed will never open or close onto something it isn’t supposed to. Technological feats aside, Tonale also boasts a sleek modern design: Sitting atop slender aluminum legs, it presents a clean silhouette with subtle yet streamlined angles. Like all our sofa wall beds, it is available in a wide array of Italian fabrics and leathers, as well as COM.

How do you feel this collection pushes the brand forward?
We’ve always pioneered the future of modern living with transforming furnishings that make the impossible possible. The addition of our tech integrations and the motorized option on our wall beds position us at the forefront of the industry. Being able to open and close a wall bed with a simple push of a button makes the process more accessible and convenient to an even wider audience.

How does the collection build on or complement your other offerings?
The best part about this collection is that it is not limited to just the newest products. We’re extending our tech integrations to our existing product lines, so fan favorites like our Penelope wall bed series can now also be ordered motorized. Our new products can also be combined with our other offerings, like our custom shelving and cabinetry, to create the perfect home ecosystem.

We’ve merged elevated Italian design with modern technology in the most subtle and sophisticated way. Rather than creating hyper-futuristic furniture, we’ve taken timeless pieces and introduced new features that seamlessly blend into your home and your lifestyle. Multifunctional furniture is what we do, and these tech integrations expand the horizons of what’s possible. 

Tell us about the materials in this collection. Are certain materials used throughout, or is one material a highlight on a particular piece?
All of our products are available in a wide variety of finishes and fabrics. However, one thing is consistent: our commitment to sustainability in all the materials we use. Every product in our collection is made from controlled, recycled or renewable materials. Our wall beds are constructed using composite panels made of over 90 percent recycled wood and plastic. Chipboard panels are made of formaldehyde-free, FSC-controlled virgin wood rated E1 or better, which certifies that the raw materials used in our wall beds are of the highest quality and do not contain wood that was illegally harvested.

How do you envision designers using this collection?
As with all our offerings, our latest furnishings empower you to create space in your home where there was none before. Our designers are often looking to create multifunctional “flex spaces” for clients, whether it be a guest room, home office, dining room, etc. With motorized options for greater accessibility and ease plus integrated tech features, this newest collection offers even more possibilities.

Can the collection be customized? If so, how?
All of our pieces are infinitely customizable. From hundreds of fabric and finish options, a wide array of sizes and potential configurations, and made-to-measure shelving and cabinetry, the possibilities are truly endless. Our vast capacity for customization allows designers and homeowners to tailor pieces in whatever way best solves the challenges of their particular space.
