One Kings Lane chief product officer David Yu, chief merchandising officer Day Kornbluth, creative executives Josh Liberson and Ethan Trask, and VP of planning and analytics Richard Hansen, are leaving the company in tandem with a layoff that will cut 25 percent of the staff, Re/code reported on Wednesday.
Kornbluth was one of the company’s first employees back in 2009. Yu came onboard in 2013 with experience at Gilt Groupe, Manilla and Major League Baseball. Liberson and Trask joined four years ago, when OKL acquired their publishing design firm, Helicopter. Hansen was hired that same year, after seven years working for eBay. According to Re/Code, a company spokeswoman confirmed that as-yet-unnamed current employees will replace the five execs.
In an e-mail to Re/code, the company’s CEO, Dinesh Lathi, said, “Given this leaner organization, and the fantastic job that has been done in cultivating a strong group of leaders at the next level, it became clear to the leadership team that the leadership team itself should get leaner.”
This is OKL’s second major layoff within the last year and a half.
