Designer Thom Filicia will judge the Windsor Charity Polo Cup tailgate competition in Vero Beach, Florida, on February 13. Attendees are invited to tailgate and view the polo match live from their own cars. Filicia will deliver a Best in Show honor to the tailgaters who adorn their vehicle with the most original interpretation of the Valentine’s Day-inspired theme “Love Is in the Air.” American sportswear brand J.McLaughlin, a Polo Cup sponsor, has donated a gift card for the winner of the tailgate competition.
Filicia, who began his career at Parish-Hadley, Robert Metzger, and Bilhuber & Associates, currently serves clients who include Tina Fey, Jennifer Lopez, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Delta Air Lines, W Hotels, and Grace Bay Club.
The Windsor Charity Polo Cup is recognized as the season’s most prominent high-goal charity polo match. International players including Salvatore Ferragamo, Luis Escobar, Jeff Hall, Malcolm Borwick, Ruki Baillieu and Julio Arellano will appear this year. Proceeds from the event will benefit the national Alzheimer’s Association and the Alzheimer & Parkinson Association of Indian River County.
Other highlights of the Polo Cup include the PNC hospitality lounge, a luncheon, the Porsche People’s Choice Concours (with 25-plus cars), gourmet concession stands and a specialty retail village.
