Ceramics, wood, glass, fiber, jewelry, metal, design, painting, photography and paper works will all be on display at SOFA Chicago, the 22nd annual Sculpture, Objects, Functional Art, and Design expo. The fair will welcome 17 new galleries from around the world to Chicago’s Navy Pier, including Alida Anderson Art Projects, C Fine Art, Collection Ateliers d’Art de France, Didier Ltd., Gladwell & Patterson, and Onishi Gallery, among its 70 total exhibitors, and a new floor plan designed by Wrap Architecture will welcome guests.

The new layout will include a revised space for the conference’s popular lecture series, a more centrally located entrance, a new café, and additional lounges. Cheryl Noel of Wrap Architecture explains, “We believe this new floor plan will capture the spirit of the art and be an expression of the work itself, exploring form and materiality, with the same level of design rigor applied.”

The fair will host 36,000-plus collectors, curators, museum groups, and art patrons. Of special note are textiles from artists like Sheila Hicks, Lenore Tawney, and Kay Sekimachi; the Lecture Series, featuring industry and arts experts; and SOFA Selects, a program featuring the top picks of designers, collectors, and other curators.

SOFA Chicago will be open November 5 to 8, Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday noon to 6 p.m. Purchase advance tickets.
