High-style yet accessible, Curio Magazine, which is set to launch later this winter, aims to offer readers online content featuring beautiful imagery, intelligent writing and interesting people in the design world.

Germain & Lidwell-Durnin

Created by UK based editors Tara Germain and Sarah Lidwell-Durnin, the magazine will produce a quarterly publication—exclusively online, as well as a blog for readers to follow for daily content.

“As a premium online interiors magazine, we hope Curio Magazine will provide that ‘lean back’ experience; that moment of being able to stop what you’re doing and take time to enjoy a stimulating, immersive and serene reading experience,” said Germain.

The launch issue includes interviews with Tara Heber-Percy (Mr. & Mrs. Smith), Nicole Beauman (Peresphone Books), Daphne Javitch (TEN Undies), interiors stylist and designer Faye Toogood, as well as photo-essays on The Zuiderzee Museum in Amsterdam, architecture in Moscow, taxidermy, wine and kitchen designs.

Within its pages, and across the Curio site as a whole, Curio plans maximize the capabilities that digital publishing provides: instant point-of-purchase access to products, film, exclusive downloads, behind-the-scenes coverage and extensive space for sponsorship.

The targeted demographic is women, ages 25-45, who engage emotionally with their environment and who want meaningful content represented with warmth and style.

“Curio Magazine simply reflects the eclecticism of contemporary life,” said Germain. “It does not restrict itself to one particular design aesthetic—instead, it covers diverse subjects across interiors, people, life and style.”

The inaugural publication and blog will be found here when the site goes live. For now, take a look at the magazine's Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest pages for more information.
